Property was perfect for us.
Location: the hotel was right by the Praca da Republica, the traiangular shaped main square on the eastern side of the historic area and major attractions. Unbeatable location to the coast or into the mountains, and the rooms where silent and new-fashioned.

We appreciated the room, reasonably priced food.
It was fairly clean, the staff was welcoming and pleasant, plus the service was good. The location was marvellous, just 5 minutes walk from a Roman Catholic church. It was set in an amazing area. The hotel was comfortable and pleasant and the attached restaurant was stunning😃😀

I did not want to leave, so recommend this hotel. I was here for 4 nights and ate at attached restaurant at the ground floor. The location was very central, wonderful in city centre convenient for sightseeing. And it was also near to the main square.

The value for money at Bracara Augusta was exceptional, I couldn't believe what I got for the price. The room, especially the quiet and isolated #306, was not only well decorated and inviting, but also very comfortable. The location in the old town was perfect, with no traffic noise and a beautiful building. The staff, especially Joana at the reception, were excellent - so friendly and helpful.
The breakfast selection could have been slightly better, but it was still nice overall.

The atmosphere was great. It's a beautiful old building with modern amenities. The breakfast was first class. The staff spoke very good English and could direct us to the best tourist things to see. The location was great. We were within walking disctance of the historical centre and within easy auto reach of the Bom Jesus.

Rooms are spacious and comfortable. The location is excellent, within walking distance of some of the best the city has to offer (imho: Café Vianna, Brasileira, the sé de Braga, Reitoria, Porta Nova and restaurants nearby...).
Bar is small and not very confortable. But my main criticism is that if you arrive late at the hotel door you have to phone security so they let you in (a minor inconvenience if you have a working mobile with you, but...). Surely fitting a doorbell or some sort of signaler that does not disturb the other guests should not be too difficult.

Spent Easter weekend in the heart of the city and had a fantastic time. The hotel was perfectly located just a short stroll from all the sights and sound and was filled with charm. The breakfast was delicious with fresh orange juice and a great variety of options. The room was clean and had a lovely bathtub, perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring the city. The staff was very helpful and welcoming.
The WiFi wasn't great in the room which made it difficult to research and plan our day trips. We also noticed a bit of noise from the street which made it a little hard to sleep sometimes.

The wonderful breakfasts and the location on the pedestrian street (on the park). Parking was easy and a great bonus. The restaurant in the hotel is fabulous. Our room was small and rather dowdy but comfortable enough with a large bathroom.
Did not like the placement of the television - up high and at an odd angle! Also, the tap for the shower was broken, we reported this; they said it was fixed and yet the next day the handle fell off again. Rather sloppy follow-up!!

We stumbled upon this hidden gem after a challenging search for parking. But once we reached the hotel, the beautiful rooms and spacious bathrooms made it all worth it. The central location allowed us to easily explore the city on foot, and the breakfast provided a great start to our day. I highly recommend this hotel for its comfortable accommodations and convenient location.
